Mission
It is the goal of the POWER Inc. Tutoring Program to enhance each student’s learning experience by helping them become better learners and by fostering a love of learning through enrichment activities.
Individualized tutoring, study, and homework plans are developed with the students and their parents to maximize time spent completing those tasks.
Comprehensive assessments are done to ascertain the student’s achievement level. Because each child learns differently, lessons will be presented utilizing the following learning tools:
- Hearing
- Sight
- Touch
- Movement
Input from the student is invaluable because this allows the student to become more invested in their academic success.
Philosophy
The Tutoring Program is modeled on the following basic principles:
- Reading is basic to all other learning.
- Behavior in school is directly proportionate to ability to master concepts.
- Students must be given age and developmentally appropriate learning materials.
- Subject matter must be presented in an interesting manner to foster a love of learning.
- Parent involvement is essential to student success in school.
