POWER Inc contracts with the Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA) to administer Home Choice Vouchers rental assistance for Washtenaw and Wayne Counties.

Program Description

POWER Inc. administers over 300 Housing Choice Vouchers for income eligible families, seniors and disabled households in the Washtenaw and Wayne County areas.  The Michigan State Housing Development Authority assists our clients by paying a portion of their monthly rent. Program participants normally pay no more than 30% of monthly adjusted income towards rent and utilities.

MSHDA subsidizes the balance of the rent to the property owner. A waiting list applicants for county each county is maintained by MSHDA; at this time applications are not being accepted for the HCV Program. Clients are free to choose any house or apartment, as long as it meets certain requirements for housing quality and affordability.
